Intro to Songwriting Day Camp

Have you always been able to make up your own melodies? Is it fun to come up with chords and new musical ideas? If so, this is the camp for you!

Campers will learn songwriting basics such as building a song from the bottom up with form, chords, lyric writing, arranging and more! Join Blue Tree owner Rebecca Smith and colleagues as they share their own songwriting tips and tricks to help you learn how to write your own songs. Share your music live at the Saturday Songwriter Showcase following the week-long camp!

Morning Preschool Camp

Do you have a little one who just loves music?

This hour-long Monday morning camp for preschoolers is the perfect way to instill the love of music and movement in your child. Campers will enjoy dancing, playing with scarves & ribbons, along with learning songs about colors, numbers and animals. Move and groove to many different styles of music, explore percussion instruments (such as shakers and tambourines) and play hide and seek with a parachute!

Recorder Camp

Yeah, those things!

You probably played one in grade school. Even if you still have yours tucked away in the attic, you won't need to dust it off for this camp because we will be providing each camper with their very own recorder! Campers will learn a variety of songs and perform them at a Mini Showcase at the end of the week. This camp is the perfect answer to the summertime lament, "I'm boooorrreeed.” Recorders to the rescue!

Batucada Marching Samba Band Camp

What is Batucada?

Batucada: The African-based drums of Brazil used in Samba and numerous other Northeastern Afro-Brazilian grooves.

Utilizing many different percussion instruments, campers will learn how to create and sustain a true samba beat as a bateria (musical ensemble) and learn all of the Brazilian names for each instrument. All instruments provided. If percussion is your thing, this camp is for you! Venha fazer barulho com a gente!

Summer Choral Camp

If you love to sing and also love warm weather, this camp is for you!

This summer-themed choral camp will have campers learning songs with "summer" in the title! Think "Summer Nights" from the Grease soundtrack, "Summer in the City" by the Lovin' Spoonful & "Summertime" sung by Ella Fizgerald, just to name a few. We will also work on some fun set design (painting, decor, etc.) for our Saturday showcase! This camp is perfect for those who have missed singing in the Blue Tree Songbirds choir these past few years. Come sing with us!

Rockin' Roots Rock Band Camp

This is the camp you’ve been waiting for! Wanna learn how to create your own music and play it LIVE in a real band?

Calling all kids who sing, play keys, percussion, guitar & bass to join us for this awesome camp experience! Chock-full of student workshops, break-out group sessions with professional musicians & instructors, songwriting, performance training and more, this camp has it all. The week closes out with your band playing a live, on-stage rock show!

Beatles Camp

It’s Been A Hard Day’s Night, so let’s all celebrate this summer with the Fab Four!

Join us to learn all about the Beatles: John, Paul, George & Ringo! Campers will learn popular songs from all catalogues, dig into some cool media and films (The Beatles Compleat & Yesterday) and form small groups to create their own "Beatles Band" for the Saturday performance showcase.
