Tyler Burkholder (they/them/he) is a recent graduate from Augsburg College, awarded with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Business. With a primary focus on violin during their time at Augsburg, Tyler also utilized their piano and bass guitar skills in Jazz Band and fellow student projects. They have always had the long-term goal and a passion to become a private music teacher due to their own experiences taking lessons.
Spring 2026, Tyler interned at Blue Tree to learn Business Management as well as hone their teaching skills. At the conclusion of the internship, they have now joined Blue Tree as an active teacher. They are so pleased to be part of the loving community at Blue Tree, and hopes to be part of that community for many years to come.
Along with teaching at Blue Tree, Tyler works with the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board as a Downtown Park Attendant, setting up and facilitating lawn games and helping manage events at the many different downtown parks. They love this job, because similarly to Blue Tree, it allows them to be an active member of the Minneapolis community, and to feel that their work makes a difference.
Tyler is from the Chicago area and lives in North Minneapolis with their spouse, Birdy, and two pets: Winston and Mo. In their free time they enjoy reading (probably something in the horror genre), gaming and crocheting.
Tyler currently teaches early childhood piano and violin.
