Ted Greenbaum

Ted Greenbaum (he/him) has been playing piano since the age of five and has been performing professionally for over 30 years. He is a multi-keyboardist who plays and teaches a range of genres including jazz, blues, rock and classical music. He studied at Michigan State University and attended Interlochen Arts Camp in Interlochen, MI where he studied with the internationally acclaimed composer/arranger Gunther Schuller. He has also studied with award winning pianists Manfredo Fest, Art Resnick and Armand Boatman.

Ted teaches beginning to advanced students. His specialty is teaching intermediate and advanced jazz harmony, theory and improvisation with a focus on intellectual control along with the necessary visual, aural and tactile practice. This, combined with teaching proper chord voicing and playing techniques, gives jazz students at any level a solid foundation in jazz harmony and affords them true mastery of their playing. You might even catch him playing accordion at Blue Tree from time to time!
