A recent graduate of the University of Minnesota, River (he/him) can’t remember a time when music wasn’t a crucial part of his life, from experimentally banging on his dad’s drum set as a kid to spending hours listening to old CDs after school. He began formal piano and voice lessons around age 12 and quickly discovered how much he loved performing and the sense of community that music can bring. Throughout high school, he sang in choirs, played percussion and piano in bands, and performed in various musicals to fulfill his innate passion for music. He later sang baritone in his college a cappella group Basses Wild and briefly took part in the Studium Musicale di Ateneo choir while studying abroad in Italy in 2025.
Now, River is excited to share that same sense of joy and enthusiasm for music with his students. He aims to help them build confidence in their musical abilities and, above all, make learning music fun! When he’s not dedicating his time to music, you can find him planning his next trip - he’s been to 14 countries so far - or relaxing with his cats and one of his favorite books.
River teaches Early Childhood, Beginning and Intermediate piano and currently has slots available on Saturdays!
