Paige (she/they) began playing violin and viola at age 8, and has been teaching since 2023. An active performer, Paige plays for weddings, local events like the Midtown Farmer’s Market, and in teacher ensembles for student recitals. She has played as a 1st violinist for numerous community orchestras, musical theater pit ensembles, and with the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. She is also the founder of the Con Brio Initiative, a project that combines her Master’s in Maternal and Child Public Health to promote mental well-being through music education.
After studying for 8 years under the tutelage of Dr. Yuliya Smead, Paige won multiple scholarships to study violin performance for a year under the tutelage of Dr. Bernard Zinck at UWM. Paige has performed in masterclasses for artists like Dr. Fredi Gerling, Dr. Tyrone Grieve, and Philippe Quint. Other important teachers include Dr. Stefan Kartman, Matt Turner, Gary Wolfman, Miyoko Grine-Fisher, and Laura Kenney Henckel.
Paige won the Majic of Music String Prize (2012) and the Junior Division (2008) of the Fox Valley Symphony Youth Soloist competition, was an alternate winner of the UW Summer Music Clinic Tuition Remission Scholarship Competition, and received an Exemplary Soloist Award at the 2010 WSMA State Festival. Along with extensive classical training, Paige received instruction in genres like jazz, pop, tango, and taqsim during her time at Appleton’s Renaissance School for the Arts. Having regularly performed with the Fox Valley Youth Symphony and WSMA State Honors Symphonies, she loves working with students interested in joining similar groups in Minnesota.
Paige is the Head of Blue Tree's Orchestral Strings Department and teaches private viola and violin lessons.
