Isaac (he/him) is a Minnesota native who started playing piano in second grade. Since then he has been adding instruments to his repertoire: French horn in fifth grade, drums in middle school and guitar in high school. He was a winner of the Minnesota Music Teachers Association and Owatonna Keyboard Guild piano competitions and went on to continue his piano studies at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. While in middle school, high school and college, Isaac was also active singing as a tenor in choirs (OHS Concert Choir, Viking Chorus, St. Olaf Cantorei) and performing drums, guitar and bass and singing with various bands.
After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art and Biology from St. Olaf, Isaac moved out to Los Angeles, CA and continued to write, play, perform and record music with rock, funk and hip-hop bands. After moving back to Minnesota in 2011, Isaac has continued to write and record his own music and collaborate and perform with musical projects in the twin cities. Additionally, he was technical manager for thr radio station 88.3 KJGT FM (Waconia, MN) until 2015.
In 2022, Isaac earned his MT-BC credential and became a board-certified music therapist, and is completing his master's in music therapy at Augsburg University. Outside of Blue Tree, he is a music therapist at Lakeview Hospice and Keynote Music Therapy and an artist (i.e. sculpture, painting, photography, drawing, graphic, restorative) with a special focus on public interactive sculptures. His artwork has been displayed in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. He also enjoys being outside and spending time in nature.
