Debra Dallin (she/her), singer and pianist, joins Blue Tree to offer choral instruction, private lessons and group adult offerings centered around community singing.
Debra has been fortunate to have been a member of some amazing choirs: Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church and Bach Society, headed by the late Paul Oakley, Plymouth Music Series (now Vocal Essence) under the direction of the amazing Phillip Brunelle, and the Minnesota Chorale under the exceptional direction of Kathy Salzman Romey. She sang at the Coventry Cathedral as the featured choir for the Coventry Music Festival, touring Ireland and England. A highlight of Debra's choral singing was singing Carl Orff’s "Carmina Burana" and "Catulli Carmina" with the Minnesota Orchestra.
Singing in Jesus Christ Superstar at Stagenorth in Washburn, WI was also highlight for Debra, living up on Madeline Island. She also was one of the Wassail Singers at The Rittenhouse Inn in Bayfield, WI under the direction of Jerry Phillips. Debra also participated in several Madeline Island Radio Hour shows produced by Ric Gillman on and sang in several “Ice Road Shows” offering entertainment to the locals living on the island in the winter.
Throughout her life Debra has assisted with a number of productions from Christmas pageants to school musicals including a summer program at Windstar in Aspen, CO. Career highlights include recording “Waiting 4 Bugs” with Buttercup Bill at La Pointe School on Madeline Island culminating in an appearance at Big Top Chautauqua, being a part of creating an Earth Day play with students from Burrough’s Grade School, and assisting with School House Rock at Anthony Middle School.
Around the Twin Cities, singing in Barry Manilow tributes and other cabarets at Bryant Lake Bowl have been a lot of fun for Debra along with starting Open Mic Night for adults at Blue Tree in 2026. She is thrilled to be returning to the Minneapolis music scene and teaching at Blue Tree!
