Courtney Semke

Courtney (she/her) has been a lover of music her whole life. She started playing the piano at age 5, picked up the viola at age 8 and has continued to play music ever since. While studying music in college, she also discovered a love of Montessori education.

After graduating from college with a music degree, Courtney went on to earn her Montessori Early Childhood education certificate. Courtney was a lead Montessori teacher for 7 years and while she had a studio of violin and viola students, she knew that she needed to incorporate music back into her everyday life. She went back to school and earned her first level of certification in the Orff Schulwerk musical pedagogy, and now is the Music Specialist at Lake Country Montessori School for Pre-K to 3rd grade. Courtney is also a violist in the Breaking Glass Quartet.

When not teaching or making music, Courtney loves to hike with her two children, attend as many Twins games as humanly possible and try out all of the amazing restaurants the Twin Cities have to offer!

Courtney teaches Early Childhood and beginning piano and currently has slots available!
