Multi-talented instrumentalist, vocalist & songwriter Brianna Lane (they/them) has been teaching individual and group lessons for about 15 years and has now joined the Blue Tree family to share their talents with their students. Brianna holds a BA in Elementary Education and though they mostly teach children, they also enjoy teaching folks of all ages. In 2007, Brianna started teaching lessons as a way to make a little extra income between tours, as they were traveling across the country as a solo singer/songwriter. Brianna quickly fell in love with teaching and furthered their career at Twin Town Guitars where they had a full roster of students. There, they taught group ukulele classes for adults, established as “U is for Uke” (parent and child learning together), and hosted open-mics for kids.
Brianna took a short break from teaching in 2015 in order to open The Warming House - a non-profit listening room for mostly acoustic original music. They returned to teaching in 2016, based at the Warming House and then began teaching online in early 2020. Brianna's teaching style is to have fun with learning music and using familiar songs to teach technique and a music theory. Students are always welcome to bring songs that they like to lessons in order to learn them or get better at them. Bring your pop, folk, rock, Americana, jazz and blues; Brianna can teach from tab, charts, notation, or by ear.
Brianna's teaching goal is to meet everyone where they are and help them reach their goals - whether that’s strumming along to your favorite song, or playing a show with all original tunes, or somewhere in between!
Brianna teaches beginning and intermediate piano, guitar, ukulele, and voice and is currently fully booked. To get on Brianna's waiting list, send us an email.
