Alec Paquin (they/them) is an experienced and passionate musician and educator. They discovered a love of music in two places: 1) their childhood basement, playing their favorite rock songs on guitar and composing music with friends, and 2) in the band and orchestra rooms of middle school and high school. Alec is a multi-instrumentalist, primarily focusing on tuba, trombone, euphonium/baritone, and guitar.
Alec has been a public school music teacher since 2017, and has been teaching Orchestra at Maple Grove Middle School since 2020. Alec studied music education at the University of Minnesota (B.M., 2017), and Northern State University (M.M.E., 2024). They currently play 2nd trombone in the Northern Symphony Orchestra in Anoka, and they play in various other musical projects around the Twin Cities.
In lessons with Alec, students are encouraged to find their own musical voice through choice in repertoire, improvisation, composition, and playing duets – as well as learning all the important technical skills on their instrument.
Alec teaches trombone and tuba and currently has slots available!
